PHPNW 2010 Tickets Now On Sale

Saturday 9th October 2010 will see the third PHPNW conference in Manchester, a conference devoted to all things PHP. PHPNW is a community of web developers, web designers and anyone else interested in PHP, from the North West of the United Kingdom. The monthly meetup is held on the first Tuesday of every month in the Revolution bar in Deansgate Locks. There is also an active mailing list.

The PHPNW09 conference last year was an amazing event that attracted speakers and attendees from all over Europe, so I fully expect PHPNW10 to be even better.

Last years conference consisted of two tracks of high quality talks on day one with a second smaller group of talks for the Sunday morning. The main day tracks consisted of PHP tech related talks on one track and project management related talks on the other. If you are in any doubt about the quality of the talks then take a look at some of PHPNW09 talks on blip.

PHPNW 2010

The PHPNW10 conference will probably consist of the same two tracks of talks on the first day as well as an extended set of talks on the second day. This all depends on the number of talks available.

I should say that the conference is more than the talks, it is also about the community and everyone I have met at the conference (and the monthly meetup) is friendly and everybody always feels welcome.

Tickets are £58 (+VAT) until 12th August and £75 (+VAT) after. A small number of concession tickets (student / OAP etc.) are available at £38 (+VAT) so please contact them to apply on a first come, first served basis. This is far less than you would normally expect to pay for a conference, but this ticket price also includes lunch, dinner and a Saturday night social event. Last years conference had a free sponsored bar during the social with more than enough drink for everyone.

If you have a ticket to the conference there is also a social being organised in Manchester city centre for the night before, so if you are in the area then feel free to drop in. The venue isn't decided yet, but we will be posting information here when it becomes available.

Conference registration is open so go to the site and get your tickets now!

If you are interested in speaking at the conference then submit a talk. Call for papers is still open and will be until 18th July 2010.

#! code will be publishing more information about the conference in the coming months so you can either follow the PHPNW10 site, the PHPNW10 Twitter feed or follow us for the latest updates. I will hopefully be going to the conference this year with a #! code t-shirt so if you spot me then please say "hi".
