For the past few months I have been organising an unconference event with †he other organisers of the North West Drupal User Group (NWDUG). An unconference is just like a normal conference, with the exception of the sessions. All of the sessions are selected on the day and then presented by the delegates. Thankfully, everything came together and on November the 4th at MadLab in Manchester we had 55 people show up for the day. Once we introduced the day and got some sessions on the wall we started out.
Next years PHP Unconference Europe (PHPunEU) will be held in Manchester on the 19th and 20th of February at TheStudio. The 2010 event saw 260 developers converge on a location in the north of Germany and gained a lot of attention within the German speaking PHP community. With the event being so near to me I decided that I must go along, especially as the tickets are only £40. The support of the PHPNW user group was apparently very useful in selecting Manchester as the location as they were able to give support and advice to the organisers about possible venues within the city.
